After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Oro, Foothill was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lassen Grizzlies 40-7. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Foothill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Puffer, who threw for 170 yards and three TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards. Those 37 rushing yards gave Puffer a new career-high. Turner Knowles did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 56 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Foothill's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Nolan Wickham: he picked up a sack and made 15 total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Lassen lost, don't look at Dowan Stephens. Despite the final result, he rushed for 113 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Stephens' longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

Foothill's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Lassen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
