Basketball Recap: Campbell Hall Comes Up Short

Campbell Hall suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Windward Wildcats and fell 78-45. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Wildcats are ranked 27th).

Campbell Hall lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Victoria Hernandez, who went 7 of 9 en route to 15 points and six boards. Hernandez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Poppy Silverstein, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points.

Campbell Hall has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.3% in those games and 7% outside of them. As for Windward, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Brentwood School the next time they take the court. Campbell Hall will host Brentwood School at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Windward will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
