Softball Recap: Omaha North Comes Up Short

Omaha North extended their losing streak to 21 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-22. They came up short against the Omaha Westside Warriors, falling 8-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Omaha Westside, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

For Omaha Westside's part, the team relied heavily on Malia Kate (Swinger), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Kate (Swinger) also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Jordyn Van Ginkel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Omaha North is set to take on their familiar foe Bellevue East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Omaha Westside will face off against rival Marian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
