Soccer Game Preview: St. Augustine vs. Mainland

The St. Augustine Yellow Jackets will face off against the Mainland Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Augustine's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

St. Augustine's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Snyder, sneaking past 1-0. That's two games straight that the Yellow Jackets have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Mainland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Seminole. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Buccaneers it sure didn't stay that way.

Mainland's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for St. Augustine, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

St. Augustine took their victory against Mainland when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1. Does St. Augustine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mainland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
