Softball Game Preview: Algona Bulldogs vs. Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS

Algona has gone 7-1 against Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will challenge Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Algona has six straight wins, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS has 19 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Algona's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Emmetsburg 10-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS fell victim to Iowa Falls-Alden and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Cadets, falling 11-0.

Algona took their victory against Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS in their previous matchup on June 6th by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
