Football Recap: Marian Catholic Comes Up Short

Marian Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Morton Potters 38-7.

Owen Askren threw for 109 yards and one TD. Jazarris MacKmore was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Kyle Scott rushed for 61 yards.

Marian Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Morton, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marian Catholic will square off against DePaul College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morton, they will face off against Canton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Potters their first taste of in-conference action this season.
