Basketball Game Preview: Center Cougars vs. Colfax Falcons

Center is 0-10 against Colfax since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Center Cougars will be playing at home against the Colfax Falcons at 6:00 p.m.

Center is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost to Oakmont at home by a 54-40 margin.

Meanwhile, Colfax entered their tilt with Marysville on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Indians 67-42. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-17.

Center better keep an eye on Juliette James. She was instrumental in Colfax's win, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards. That's the most points James has posted since back in February of 2024. Kaia Diederichs was another key player, putting up nine points and eight assists.

Colfax was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marysville only racked up three assists.

Colfax has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Center took a serious blow against Colfax when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 65-30. Can Center avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
