Arvada extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 14-2. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Bennett Tigers. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Alyssa Moreno made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, Arvada got a massive performance out of Amiah Picaso, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Abby Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Arvada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bennett only managed seven.
As for Bennett, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Bennett's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macy Meyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Adelyn Westendorf was another, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Arvada will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bennett, they will face off against Florence at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
