Basketball Recap: Venture Academy Find Success

Linden came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Venture Academy, but Kelyiana Neal wouldn't allow it. Everything went the Venture Academy Mustangs' way against the Linden Lions on Thursday as the Venture Academy Mustangs made off with a 44-24 victory thanks in part to Neal, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Venture Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Wegner, who posted six points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Wegner is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Venture Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Linden, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Venture Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Millennium at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Linden also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Big Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
