Softball Recap: Mays Comes Up Short

Mays was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 24-8 to the M.L. King Lions. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Leah Roberts led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Kiyra Harkness, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Mays' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for M.L. King, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mays will face off against rival Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, M.L. King is set to challenge their familiar foe Creekside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
