Preview: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. North Surry Greyhounds

Surry Central is 1-9 against North Surry since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Surry Central Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Surry Greyhounds at 8:00 p.m. Surry Central will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.

Last Friday, Surry Central was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to North Wilkes.

Despite the loss, Surry Central got a solid performance out of Ayden Wilmoth, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Wilmoth has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tripp Mcmillen, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, North Surry pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Mount Airy by a score of 59-57. North Surry has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Surry Central's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5. As for North Surry, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

Things could have been worse for Surry Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-50 loss to North Surry when the teams last played back in January.
