Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Vernon vs. Grinnell

The Mt. Vernon Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Grinnell Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Vernon's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Tuesday, neither Mt. Vernon nor B-G-M could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Grinnell was forced to settle for a draw. They played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against Center Point-Urbana.

Mt. Vernon's draw gives them a new season record of 0-1-2. Meanwhile, Grinnell's record is now 1-0-1.

Mt. Vernon skirted past Grinnell 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
