Football Recap: Hayfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hayfield can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Southland Rebels and fell 36-0. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Henry Wiste was his usual excellent self, rushing for 59 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Southland. Wiste got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards. Cael Smith got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hayfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Southland, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Hayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southland, they will take on Lewiston-Altura at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
