Baseball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Takes a Loss

Washington-Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Lake Oconee Academy Titans, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-1 loss on Friday.

Washington-Wilkes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Lamar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Washington-Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Lake Oconee Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Coming up, Washington-Wilkes will welcome Lincoln County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington-Wilkes is facing Lincoln County at the right time seeing as Lincoln County is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they will square off against Towns County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Towns County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Lake Oconee Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
