Softball Recap: Linn-Mar Wins High-Profile Contest Against Prairie

Linn-Mar faced Prairie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Lions came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 6-2. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Linn-Mar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Prairie, they moved to 12-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Linn-Mar beat the Hawks by a score of 9-2 later that day.
