Soccer Game Preview: San Marino vs. Temple City

San Marino is 1-8-1 against Temple City since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The San Marino Titans will look to defend their home pitch against the Temple City Rams at 4:00 p.m. San Marino is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

San Marino's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in December of 2024. They put the hurt on Westridge with a sharp 5-0 win. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Tigers are ranked 667th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Marino hit Westridge with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sofia Rodriguez (2), Kaia Kooper (2), and Lauren Martinez.

Meanwhile, Temple City didn't have quite enough to beat South Pasadena on Wednesday and fell 2-1.

San Marino now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Temple City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

San Marino skirted past Temple City 3-2 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will San Marino repeat their success, or does Temple City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
