Recap: Pacheco Panthers vs. Chowchilla Tribe
The Pacheco Panthers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Chowchilla by a score of 36-29 on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Pacheco, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sasha S siemiller was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jimenez, who scored 1 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Despite the defeat, Chowchilla had strong showings from Molly Silva, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals, and Bella Gonsalves, who scored 4 points along with 11 steals. Silva is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Pacheco's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Chowchilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Pacheco will square off against Patterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Patterson is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Chowchilla, they will take on Lathrop at TBD on Friday. Lathrop presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chowchilla in California (Lathrop is ranked 295th, while Chowchilla is ranked 920th).
