Basketball Recap: Archbishop Ryan Comes Up Short

Archbishop Ryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 48-30 bruising from the West Catholic Burrs. While losing is never fun, the Raiders and Ragdolls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Burrs are ranked 174th).

Archbishop Ryan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for West Catholic, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Ryan will host Neumann-Goretti at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neumann-Goretti knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Archbishop Ryan likes a good challenge. As for West Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Hubert Catholic for Girls at 6:30 p.m. West Catholic is on a three-game streak of home losses, St. Hubert Catholic for Girls a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
