Preview: Pacific Bay Christian Eagles vs. Design Tech Dragons
Pacific Bay Christian is 8-2 against Design Tech since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Pacific Bay Christian Eagles will be playing at home against the Design Tech Dragons at 5:30 p.m. Design Tech took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pacific Bay Christian, who comes in off a win.
Pacific Bay Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Kehillah with a sharp 43-22 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Pacific Bay Christian has managed all season.
Pacific Bay Christian found their leader in underclassman Avery Lin, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. Lin also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Savanna Munds was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Design Tech suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Summit Shasta, falling 67-19. While losing is never fun, Design Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 972nd, while Summit Shasta is ranked 330th).
Pacific Bay Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6. As for Design Tech, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.
