It was a proper cat-fight when Jefferson West faced off against Royal Valley on Friday. The Tigers took down the Panthers 35-20. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 30-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Jefferson West's win came down to the chemistry between Crayton Holman and his top target Brody Schwinn. Holman gained 63 total yards and two touchdowns while Schwinn picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Holman was even better on defense, making five total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Brody Thelen got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Jefferson West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Thelen and Holman. Thelen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Jefferson West's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Royal Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Jefferson West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 30-27 loss against St. Marys on the 19th. As for Royal Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 37-21 defeat against Holton on the 19th.
