Softball Recap: Ridgeland Comes Up Short

The Ridgeland Panthers came up short against the Armuchee Indians on Monday and fell 10-7.

Kailynn Bailey and Alaina Shaver did some serious damage despite the final result: Bailey went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Shaver went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Maddi Champagne also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Ridgeland dropped their record down to 11-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Armuchee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ridgeland will take on Chattooga at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Armuchee, they will face off against Fannin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
