Baseball Recap: Lee County Wins Going Away Against Bainbridge

Lee County won the last time they faced Bainbridge and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went the Lee County Trojans' way against the Bainbridge Bearcats as the Lee County Trojans made off with an 11-1 win. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Josh Barnes was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Weston Bryan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Lee County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Lee County and bumps their season record up to 3-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 Bainbridge and 1-3 Cairo. As for Bainbridge, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Lee County will challenge Cairo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bainbridge, they will take on Thomas County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
