Football Game Preview: West Ouachita Chiefs vs. East Ascension Spartans

The West Ouachita Chiefs will challenge the East Ascension Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Ouachita has given up an average of 32 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Ascension will take on a team with plenty of momentum: West Ouachita extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Chiefs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 victory over Grant. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Cougars are ranked 219th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, East Ascension didn't have too much trouble with Walker on Friday as they won 35-20.

East Ascension's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for West Ouachita, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

West Ouachita was dealt a bruising 37-0 defeat at the hands of East Ascension in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
