It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pelican Rapids had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Crookston Pirates a 63-0 shutout. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The win got Pelican Rapids back to even at 4-4. As for Crookston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Pelican Rapids will face off against Barnesville on Saturday. The Vikings will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.89 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Crookston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
