Baseball Recap: Colerain Victorious

Madeira typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Colerain proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mustangs and Amazons 4-3. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one run.

Aiden Hundley tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Dario Sanchez Tejada and Orlando Sanchez Tejada did most of the damage at the plate: Dario went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Orlando went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Dario has posted since back in April.

Colerain's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-21. As for Madeira, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-8.

Coming up, Colerain will square off against Walnut Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Madeira does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
