Soccer Game Preview: Oak Park vs. Newbury Park

The Oak Park Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Newbury Park Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Oak Park's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calabasas on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Newbury Park didn't have quite enough to beat Chaminade on Tuesday and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Clara Caulfield, who's now up to two this season.

Oak Park now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Newbury Park, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.

Oak Park skirted past Newbury Park 1-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Park since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
