Baseball Game Preview: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Prospect Knights

The Schaumburg Saxons will head out to take on the Prospect Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Prospect took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Schaumburg, who comes in off a win.

Schaumburg took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Elk Grove get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Prospect fell victim to Barrington and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Schaumburg's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Prospect, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Schaumburg beat Prospect 9-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Saxons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
