Softball Game Preview: Archer City Wildcats vs. Tioga Bulldogs

The Archer City Wildcats will square off against the Tioga Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Archer City's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five games.

Archer City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Alvord an 11-0 shutout.

Addison Canada 2027 made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Brilee Canada 2027 was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Addyson Peters 2026 was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Archer City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, in Saturday's Canine Competition, Tioga prevailed. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Wolfe City on Saturday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Archer City pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tioga, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
