Baseball Game Preview: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. Clarkston Angoras

Southwest DeKalb has gone a perfect 10-0 against Clarkston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Southwest DeKalb Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clarkston Angoras at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Wednesday, Southwest DeKalb came up short against North Springs and fell 5-2.

Kameron Scott spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Desmond McCord was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Clarkston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to Marist, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Clarkston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Southwest DeKalb, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Southwest DeKalb took their win against Clarkston in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 16-0. Does Southwest DeKalb have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clarkston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
