Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Union Grove

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pike County, Union Grove was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Westminster Wildcats 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since October 16, 2024.

Alisha Cattuzzo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aniyah Griffin, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Mote, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Union Grove's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
