Softball Game Preview: Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings vs. Mt. Vernon Mustangs

Vinton-Shellsburg hasn't had much luck against Mt. Vernon recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Vinton-Shellsburg has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Vinton-Shellsburg's offense. They came up short against West Delaware on Wednesday, falling 11-0. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while Mt. Vernon put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Estherville Lincoln Central. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Midgets with a sharp 8-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Vinton-Shellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Mt. Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
