Soccer Game Preview: Buena vs. Dos Pueblos

The Buena Bulldogs will face off against the Dos Pueblos Chargers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Buena's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Buena's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Rio Mesa 1-0. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Spartans are ranked 715th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, on TuesdayVentura kept up with Dos Pueblos until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Dos Pueblos blew past Ventura 4-0. The result kept the Chargers happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 28, 2024.

Buena is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six contests. As for Dos Pueblos, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-7.
