Basketball Recap: Bayside Takes a Loss

Bayside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Balboa Bengals and fell 75-31. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bayside's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Wenzel, who posted six points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Justin Martinez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Bayside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Balboa, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayside will challenge Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Balboa, they will welcome The Rock National at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
