Basketball Recap: Sullivan County Takes a Loss

Sullivan County lost against Northwest Area back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sullivan County Griffins were beaten by the Northwest Area Rangers 65-14. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while the Rangers are ranked 309th).

Sullivan County has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Northwest Area, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Sullivan County will host Bucktail at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwest Area, they are taking a road trip to take on Benton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Area's defense has only allowed 25.4 points per game this season, so Benton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
