Soccer Recap: Hobbs' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Hobbs couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 5-1 to the La Cueva Bears on Wednesday. One thing that didn't help Hobbs' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Giovanni Maciel.

Hobbs' goal came courtesy of Joel Gamez, who's now up to 21 this season.

With the defeat, Hobbs broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-6-1. As for La Cueva, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-1-2 record this season.

Hobbs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Cueva, they will challenge Rio Rancho at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
