Basketball Recap: Jenkintown Takes a Loss

Jenkintown and Renaissance Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Jenkintown had to settle for second. They took a 39-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Renaissance Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-26 back in January.

Renaissance Academy can attribute much of their success to Dallis Stewart, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kasira Barber, who earned eight points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Jenkintown and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for Renaissance Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Jenkintown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Renaissance Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Renaissance Academy has won three straight at home, while Faith Christian Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
