Baseball Recap: Laney Takes a Loss

Laney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Burke County Bears, falling 18-0.

Laney's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Burke County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-7.

Laney and Burke County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Laney will square off against Thomson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 321 places (473 vs. 152). Laney has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Meanwhile, Burke County (ranked 370th) will meet Georgia School for Innovation & Classics (ranked 165th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
