Volleyball Recap: Old Lyme Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Portland on Monday, Old Lyme came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the East Hampton Bellringers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bellringers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Old Lyme ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21.

Maya LeQuire paced Old Lyme's offense, picking up 15 kills. LeQuire got some help from Maya Desai and her ten assists. Avery Goiangos controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

East Hampton found their leader in sophomore Kylie Bigelow, who had six digs and three aces.

Old Lyme now has a losing record of 6-7. As for East Hampton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Old Lyme has already played their next matchup (against Cromwell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Hampton, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coginchaug Regional at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th.
