Recap: Clearfield Bison vs. Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders
After flying high against the Bellefonte Raiders last Monday, the Clearfield Bison came back down to earth. Clearfield lost to Bishop Guilfoyle at home by a decisive 66-47 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Clearfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Bishop Guilfoyle is ranked 59th).
Clearfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Glunt, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sonny Diehl, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Clearfield's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-2.
Clearfield will head out on the road to challenge Tyrone at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Clearfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Penns Valley Area at 7:30 p.m. Bishop Guilfoyle is coming into the game with 12 straight wins at home, so Penns Valley Area is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
