Preview: West Philadelphia Speedboys vs. Parkway Center City Bulldogs

The West Philadelphia Speedboys will head out on the road to face off against the Parkway Center City Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. West Philadelphia will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

With a playoff game on the line, West Philadelphia rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 win over the HOYAS. Given West Philadelphia's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Parkway West is ranked 411th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Philadelphia can attribute much of their success to Naeemiah Bridgeford, who scored 15 points along with five steals, and Victoria Williams, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Bridgeford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Badji Tall, who scored four points.

Meanwhile, Parkway Center City was the victim of a rough 52-29 defeat at the hands of Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech on Friday.

West Philadelphia's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Parkway Center City, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

West Philadelphia came up short against Parkway Center City when the teams last played back in February of 2017, falling 53-40. Can West Philadelphia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
