Basketball Recap: California City Takes a Loss

California City lost against Kern Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The California City Ravens were beaten by the Kern Valley Broncs 70-30. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1146th, while the Broncs are ranked 471st).

Kern Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayda Bushling led the charge by going 5 for 9 to rack up 13 points and four steals. Bushling has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Jessie Bunting was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

California City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Kern Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

As of now, neither California City nor Kern Valley have any future games scheduled.
