Baseball Recap: Lake Oconee Academy Comes Up Short

Lake Oconee Academy suffered their biggest defeat since February 23rd on Wednesday. They came up short against the Athens Academy Spartans, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-11 back in February.

This is the second loss in a row for Lake Oconee Academy and nudges their season record down to 16-5. As for Athens Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Lake Oconee Academy will face off against Academy for Classical Education at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gryphons have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for Athens Academy, they will take on Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.46 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
