Basketball Recap: Iroquois Takes a Loss

Iroquois was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Northwestern Wildcats, falling 65-5. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-4.

It was another big night for Makayla Presser-Palmer, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds for Northwestern. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which Presser-Palmer has scored at least a third of Northwestern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Bucci, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points and six boards.

Iroquois' loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Northwestern, the win keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Iroquois will head out to take on Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northwestern, they will take on Mercyhurst Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
