Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge extended their losing streak to 11 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Sullivan Redskins, falling 13-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 23-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Sullivan, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-18. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.

For Sullivan's part, Gavin Wade made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sullivan is 3-1 when Wade allows one or fewer hits, but 4-17 otherwise. Wade was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Dylan Ray looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Kolton Wiley was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Tristan Wright was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As of now, neither Blue Ridge nor Sullivan have any future games scheduled.
