Basketball Recap: Wellsboro Comes Up Short

Wellsboro lost against Towanda back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wellsboro Hornets took a blow against the Towanda Black Knights, falling 50-18. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Wellsboro has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Towanda, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellsboro will face off against Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Troy has 11 straight victories, Wellsboro has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for Towanda, they will challenge Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
