Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Wolf Pack vs. Bakersfield Christian Eagles
The Ridgeview Wolf Pack lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Bakersfield Christian, falling 65-35. Ridgeview has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Ridgeview's loss came despite strong showings from Aubrey Aldan and Kenadi Walton. Aldan scored nine points along with eight rebounds, while Walton scored nine points along with two blocks. Alyse Brooks was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Sara Shein continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bakersfield Christian, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Alexis Bila, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Bakersfield Christian, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.
Ridgeview will be playing at home against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday. As for Bakersfield Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Garces Memorial: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while the Eagles have snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
