Lincoln Southwest had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Omaha Westside Warriors get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Silver Hawks have won 24 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Maisey McCarty's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Morgan Gabel, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Yoder, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lincoln Southwest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Omaha Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-9.

Lincoln Southwest has already played their next contest, a 5-4 victory against Papillion-LaVista on the 16th. As for Omaha Westside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-3 loss against Elkhorn South on the 16th.
