Soccer Recap: Elbert County Comes Up Short

After soaring to nine goals the game before, Elbert County was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against the Athens Academy Spartans, falling 4-1. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Khoa Tran, who's now up to two this season.

Elbert County dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Athens Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 1-4 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elbert County will face off against Oglethorpe County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elbert County is facing Oglethorpe County at the right time seeing as Oglethorpe County is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Athens Academy, they will square off against Banks County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
