Soccer Game Preview: Casa Grande vs. Branson

The Casa Grande Gauchos will head out on the road to take on the Branson Bulls at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Branson will be up against a hot Casa Grande team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Casa Grande never let Justin-Siena onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Thursday. Given the Gauchos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Braves are ranked 634th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Branson made sure to put some goals up on the board against Novato on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 7-0 win. Catrin Howell had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Bulls.

Casa Grande pushed their record up to 9-0-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Branson, their win bumped their record up to 14-3-2.

Casa Grande came out on top in a nail-biter against Branson in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Casa Grande since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
