Soccer Recap: Pinole Valley Comes Up Short

Pinole Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Saint Mary's Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in December of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Chantelle Tejada, who's now up to ten this season.

Pinole Valley now has a losing record at 6-7-1. As for Saint Mary's, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.

Pinole Valley didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Richmond on the 29th. Saint Mary's has also already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against De Anza on the 28th.
